its been such a long time since my relatives had a wedding invitation. so when there was one today. im sure everyone took the time to dress to the nines and be seen and be heard at the right place.

it wouldnt matter to me much if the wedding was under a block. HEH. i am a malay after all. but to my surprise it was at a community centre. heh. oh wells. melayu people and their spirit of gotong royong *thumps chest in pride* wait a minute. what chest? hahaha. but thats beside the point.

ANYWAY.

we trudged in. looking like drowned rats. seeing that there wasnt space in the community centre. probably would have cost too much for the bride's father. hahaha! so my dad, along with all the other drivers, parked along the road. hahaha! yes. being malay and all. it was raining and it was cold and i was looking forward to a nice hot meal.

we were graciously greeted by the bride's parents. we stepped in and oh.. my.. god. it was fucking freezing lah please. never mind the aircon was switched on to full blast. they had fans blowing like maniacs in every direction. the flowers on the table quivered with excitement while tudongs flew this way and that. wow. awesome place. they probably wanted to make full use of their money. being malays and all :P but the place was nice. used a hotel's concept. the pelamin was awesome btw.

we settled down. and the speaker was on full blast. some malay wedding songs lah. a bit of karaoke. some dude singing offkey. terrible. hahaha. i forgot that malay weddings used to be this loud as well. so after "chopping" a table i went to grab the food. i dont understand why malay weddings love to serve nasi briyani. heh heh. there was rendang, tandoori chicken, - tandoori chicken?! - , sweet and sour fish. and an amalgamation of other weird fusions. it wasnt bad, though.

after i was done. dad asked to grab some kueh-kueh. so i did. hahahaha. i took a tiny plate and loaded it up to the max. people were staring but i didnt really care. after all, i was taking for my whole family, not just myself. upon my return, dad asked me to get the dessert. so i went. along the way i saw puddings! among the kueh-kueh. imagine my excitement! i grabbed two and made my way back.

mum decided the puddings were a novelty idea. we went back to look for other flavors. being malays, she took some and i took some and then my brother shoved them all into her handbag. hahahahaha. of course all this was done with perfect nonchalance. come on lah. im sure everyone else was doing the same thing. heh heh.

it was great in a way to see all my relatives whom i havent visited this year (: my cousins and my aunts were so pysched to see us. and then the topic turned to studies. i dont understand why. why they must always talk about studies. sigh. and then my uncle, whom i havent seen in years, arrived. and he started boasting abt his daughters. bla bla bla.

after plucking one bunga mangga. we finally decided to go home.

sigh. malay weddings are such tiresome affairs ((:
