when family gatherings arrive. some rejoice but most cringe inwardly. why? because its a time for comparison. these comparisons range from a variety of topics. tskk. the most common ones are education level. height. individual income. love life. family behavior. and blah blah blah.

there is always someone in the family who's obviously much smarter than the rest of the cousins. grandmothers ahh i tell you loveeee to say that this grandchild is smarter than you or that grandchild made it to uni why arent you aiming high? ive heard stories like these from my friends. my family is like that too. this aunt of mine loves to compare us and her family. CRAZY LAHH. house deco also want to compare. wtf lahhs. gladly relatives seem to remember me when i was a tiny tottering and adorably cute baby and oh wells pair that up with good manners instilled in me by my parents and they love me.

so moral of the story? fuck what they say lah. mum's always telling me to be happy with what ive got. so i had a pretty low psle t-score. so my o-levels results werent exactly anything to boast abt. so i failed my maths. BLAHH. fuck it lah. mum's happy. dad's happy. IM happy. why bother what they say?

height is a lovely topic for comparison and its been in the running for ages. COME ON LAHH. if your mum's tall. and your dad's tall. and you come out short then it must be your grandad or grandma or somebody. never watch skyhigh ahhs? tskk. they love to say - wah! so tall already ah! taller than me! tut tut! fuck off lahh. never grow then forever want to stay short ahh? crazy.

and how abt when grandmothers push the singles to get married? alamak! total pits lahh that one. some people suay. nobody like them. cannot get married. then how? matchmake ahh? no love. then divorce. tskk. find bride from vietnam? hello. never read news ahhs? so many people kena cheated sia. and grandmothers forever pushing for more grandchildren and stuff. WAH LAO EH. ah ma. if you want. you have your own lahhs.

but for people like me. all i can say is that - im lovin' it! haha :P you all knw me to be so thick skinned and stuff right? nyahahaha. when they tease me abt getting married i just smile. and anyway. my family is NOT like that (:

blahhs. i love family gatherings lah. all my uncles will pat my shoulder and tell me to work hard and give me good advice and they give me good money to encourage me as well. NO. its not the money. they love me so much lahhs. how can i let them all down? everyone wants to see me succeed. be the journalist that i wana become.

come on lahhs. they remembered me writing and reading when i was in nappies. GOSH. hahaha.
