im so zenned for band right now. DO YOU PEOPLE ACTUALLY KNOW HOW GOOD LOOKING COMPOSERS ARE REALLY?

i couldnt copy and paste bert appermont's pictures. but i guarantee you that he's a VERY decent looking chap (: cant wait to see him in person please. visit his webby here. you'll be treated to the opening lines of SAGA CANDIDA. just the part before the fast part comes in. that cute trumpet solo there. LOL.

i know he's not that bad looking also. HE'S YOUNG ALSO YOU KNOW. omg. and i thought all composers were the likes of james barnes. you know. refined. dignified. and yada yada.

im really going crazy over them. HAHA.

oh btw. despite all the wonderfully ceaseless running notes that bert appermont has so lovingly composed for us trombonists. he actually plays the clarinet. i think i want to faint. so much revelation in one day. im having a headache as it is. I NEED SOME ASPIRIN PLEASE.

also i've come upon a damn highly useful blog that allows me access to conductor scores for A LOT OF SONGS. bamberg fantasy. ivanhoe. gulliver's travels. symphonic variations. and the likes (: i shall never run out of scores AGAIN. lol.

as you can see. jericho really exists. yay! (:



yups. not really that clear. but this is the fall of jericho.

some basic information abt jericho :

jericho is thought to be the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world - dating back nearly 10,000 years. located beyond the northern portion of the dead sea [the lowest place on earth] jericho is also about the lowest city on earth - some 800 feet below sea level. nearby you can see the mountains [between jericho and jerusalem] that capture water far above jericho. and then carry the water through underground springs where it spews out in this desert oasis. one of these springs is elisha's spring.

and the story of jericho :

joshua the son of nun summoned the priests and said to them:

take the ark of the covenant and have seven priests holding seven ram horns walk before the ark of the eternal

then he said to the people:

go and encompass the city and let the advance guard walk before the ark of the eternal

as soon as joshua had spoken to the people. the seven priests bearing the seven rams' horns passed before the eternal blowing the horns; the ark of the covenant of God followed them. the advance guard walked before the priests who blew the horns and the rear guard walked behind the ark and they walked in this manner to the sound of the horns.

joshua gave this order to the people:

do not cry out. do not allow your voices to be heard and do not let a word come out of your mouth until I say: cry out! then you will shout

the ark of the eternal encompassed the city. they went around one time and then returned to the camp and spent the night there. joshua rose early the next morning. on the second day they went around the city once. they then returned to the camp. they continued to do this for six days. on the seventh day they rose at dawn and went around the city in the same order seven times. it was the only day that they encompassed the city seven times. on the seventh time the priests sounded the horns and joshua said to the people:

cry out for the eternal has handed over this city to you! the city and all that is in it will be banned to you in the name of the eternal

the people shouted out when the horns were blown. the wall came crumbling down and the people rushed forward into the city. every man went out against it and took the city. and they respected the ban on everything in the city. men and women. young and old. including the cattle. the sheep and the asses - all perished by the sword.

actually ah. i dont really get the last part. a bit confusing please. LOL (: coincides with ms tan's version doesnt it? yupss. happy reading (:
