14th jan 05. its simply a night to remember. something we've waited for all this while. endured tears. laughter. joy. pain. runnings. =). idiocy. dumbness. criticised endlessly. scolded at. shouted at. wah hahaha. it didnt come to waste. definitely oh so definitely not a waste. a beautiful memory to be kept and treasured. ON VIDEO. tt idiot who bastard me. last min cant come. luckily queena's dad videoed. haha. music was pretty good. from the audience view. tho he cut a few parts. tho i do agree with them that it wasnt our best. i played a lot better during rehearsal on thursday.

im so happy mummy enjoyed herself. hehe. she woke us up and talked non stop abt the concert. she really enjoyed the music. and especially when ppl shouted the player's names and they went 'shhhhh!'. and more screams. den 'shhh!' again. hehe. mummy really loved that. and she couldnt stop laughing during the snakes and phantom drama. hehehe. she told us to bring her during future concerts. den she said cant go with mai. cause she always go with her friends. den she say cant go with me. if not refat put where? haha. =PpP.

before i left for sch she wished me all the best. she said she hoped she wouldnt get too excited and scream too much for us. haha i say understandable what. she's got two people to cheer for. knw what she said?! 'no not two. ive got three. the conductor is my future son-in-law.' wah hahahahaha.

fun fun fun. this concert has brought everyone closer. you havent failed mr refat. WE SALUTE YOU~!~! =PpP. hao's juniors msg him often asking when he's coming back for prac. the juniors are more open. they talk more to the seniors. they are not so conservative. yew hao and azman have become more ON. they have shed away their 'aiya dun wan la' attitude to 'eh come on la! together la!'. snakes have definitely changed them. hahahaha. best of all? azman. a wonderful and complete makeover. no more 'u are not sec 4 standard' or 'what are you playing?!'. now all he says is 'dun worry. u can do better.' simply said. he's become humble. everyone has become more humble.

me and hao were deciding to organize a bbq. and it struck me tt when we talked we had the band in mind. we didnt have to worry abt who's gona come and all that. we didnt have to worry abt the non-members. the band is our friend now. no more cliques. just one big happy family. like i said the music has brought everyone closer.

bus ride over was great. everyone in high spirits. singing their parts in the bus. who initiated? azman and yew hao. =PpP. noiseeee! hahaha. simply noisy yet enjoyable. even ppl like yee ying and christina joined in. hahaha. omg. wonderful. sigh. what a spoiler abt the spoiled vibraphone. and the ALMOST missing chimes. and ms chong and mrs ghani. absolutely fed up. den botched rehearsals. a lot of things not done. drama was last minute. lost hair band. missing ribbons. and WRONG SHOES. sigh. perc ensem not done. guests let in early. grr.

but heck. concert was beautiful. looked at refat looked at refat looked at refat. from where i sat i could finally hear the whole band. hear the balance. hear the dedication and a thirst to play beautifully emerging from 8 different bells. this is bukit merah band. this is MY band. i loved jap 4. the only song we hardly touched. and the one song we played so beautifully. the pickup notes from the wind just simply makes me wana move with the music. when i watched the video. i finally realized how much effort queena's second and thirds put in for jap 4. even for jia wen. wow. second encore was a laugh. glad he liked the jersey. teachers loved the cookies! yay!

supper. haha. yam senggg! azman and yew hao again. hehe. so much laughter and talk abt the concert. me and azman made fun of refat. LOL. den i asked if they wanted to go for alumni band today. no one wanted. when kelvin asked who wanted to go and yew hao pointed to me he said 'riah. see the wall? go bang.' LOL. coming from kelvin tts really amazing. haha. he's usually the type who sees the good in ppl. hehe. we were pretty sad. 2 mins to midnight and we were all so glum. we didnt want the night to end. we wanted it to go forever.

thru this whole experience i have learnt new things. and i will not repeat my past mistakes. patience and encourage is a virtue. esp if ur the SL. i have taken my solos for granted. i will make sure tt i am well prepared so tt ppl will walk away thinking to themselves. what a wonderful solo. i have seen many trombone soloists. and none leaves me in awe. hmm. and yes. pitching high G with trigger is a a whole lot easier. something else to impart to andy. wah haha. =).

jubilance 1 was magical. there will of course be more jubilance to come. lets work hard BMCB! we started this journey. there will of course be no ending. this will be a journey of self reflection. of passion. of rediscovering ourselves. of unity. of hard work. this will be a journey of making music. GO BMCB~! =).

oh and the best part of the night? hahaha. i found out tt huey min and azman are together. SINCE MACRITCHIE. hahahahah. =). great news!
